Darren Singer

Darren Singer is a New York-based artist, art educator, and community organizer with over 20 years of experience. He holds a BA in Arts from Tulane University and a Master's from Queens College, studying under Nelson Shanks at the Art Students League, and earning a Fine Arts certificate from the New York Academy of Art. Darren founded Botanica Grove artist and wellness center, and co-founded Studio Rembrandt art studio. Recently, he was selected for the Evercore Artist Fellowship and has shown at venues such as Drawing Rooms, Gulf Coast Artists’ Alliance, and Greenpoint Art Circle. He has a solo exhibition at One Art Space, NYC, and Evercore Bank. Darren creates sensory experiences, both through paint and sound, inviting viewers to engage deeply with his work, appreciating its balance, rhythm, and proportions.

Darren believes that introspective, expressive art spaces create healing for artists and viewers. Various subjects create distinct bodies of work that express his experiences of the world around him.  Within painting, he executes a range of materials and processes, contributing to the richness of his work. He reflects on internal impressions of what he sees to capture moments with energy and emotion. His studio is a sacred space for dialogue with the universe, allowing artwork to develop organically. In one body of work, his large oil paintings depict nature, embodying a bioregenerative aesthetic, the philosophy that art can transmit healing.  In some projects, he incorporates music to enhance emotional resonance. Through his art, he hopes to inspire others to see the world anew and appreciate its beauty and complexity.
